Q: How come Toyota builds their cars so cheap?
I drove a 2004 Toyota Corrolla while in Florida and if there was any type if wind it was flying all over the place it was built so light. My friend had a 2000 Toyota Camry and had to get rid of it because the engine needed to be replaced because it wasn't installed correctly out of the plant. The accelerator stuck so you could be accelerating too go on to the freeway but you'd have to lay off the accelerator for a while so it would unstick. Very dangerous. Now wonder why they got sued for using cheap parts!

A: it is the same with all the Japanese cars and trucks .. .i can't imagine why anyone would buy one

Q: Would a Toyota dealer compensate me for lost money due to not being able to use my truck ?
I had a head gasket replaced due to overheating this past week at a Toyota dealer. The head gasket was on recall and they replaced it for free. They also put on the engine new spark plugs and a new thermostat and a new gasket on the exhaust manifold as well. I have driven it home now and there is an obvious electrical surge /shortage somewhere because it jolted down the road just now and stopped and when I opened the hood there was smoke coming from the cable going to the negative terminal. They maybe didnt ground the wire back when they put everything back together???? I am a landscaper and needed to mow my customers lawns today and will be losing money by not being able to use my truck. What will Toyota do about it???? Thanks for your answers! BTW, I HAVE CHECKED ALREADY THE WIRES ON THE BATTERY TERMINALS. THEY ARE CLAMPED GOOD AND EVERYTHING. AND THIS IS A 93 TOYOTA T100 TRUCK WITH A 3.0 V6 ENGINE.

A: i have a yahoo question.... how many times can this guy ask a question that puts him getting something else for free? come on man....your truck is out of warranty. the dealership performed the recall. end of story. if they made a mistake give them time to fix it. if they didnt i am sure they will be more than happy to give you an estimate to repair your truck. the correct answer to your question is this... toyota will verify that the recall was performed correctly. period.

Q: Toyota.....................................................?
Anyone like the Toyota Aygo??

A: um, its a very small cheap car, designed for people that cant drive very well, looks rubbish, handles rubbish, is made by a rubbish manufacturer, easy to park as you basically pick it up and put it where you want it and they smashed loads of them up on top gear playing football, in a nutshell - no.

Q: What is the difference between Toyota Previa and Toyota Estima?
I went to the Toyota website and found that they do not have Toyota Estima model listed. However, I noticed that the Toyota Previa are of the same design as Toyota Estima. Are they the same?

A: When the Toyota Estima used to be sold in the US, it was renamed the Toyota Previa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Previa

I heard a rumor that Toyota was designing a new Celica and planning on releasing it back into the United States. Is this true and if it is, when can I expect its arrival?

A: It's already here: Scion T.C. (T.oyota C.elica).

Q: How to find a mechanic to install a rebuilt Toyota engine?
I have an old Toyota truck and the engine has some problems at 253,000 miles. I am thinking of locating a mechanic in this urban area of Tacoma, WA, but I am new here and don;t know many folk. Any suggestions as to how I'd go about finding a mechanic that would do the install correctly? The Toyota dealer wants $7,500 just in labor. ;-/

A: tell me more about your truck..what model and type of problems. I used to live in Tacoma and know many people there Toyota wise. Most dealers do not want their technicians doing side work and under cutting their prices. Tell me more and i can ask around

Q: Is the Toyota Celica considered a sports car by insurance companies?
I am a new driver and i have been looking around at cars. My car of preferance would be the Toyota Celica however im not sure if it can be insured to 17 year old because of the sports car label. I have looked at sites such as geico and all state for quotes but this has proven unsucessful. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

A: Just write down all cars you like then see this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge. When you get the quote, do not close your browser, just back up, change car then get another quote for the new car. Write it all down so you don't forget. Also write down the name of the insurer and the link to go back to them. Spend a couple of days like this, getting quotes and getting your data down till you have enough so you can now see which was the best/cheapest price. Q: What year did Toyota Previas start being manufactured with 5 doors?
I'm looking for a second hand 8 seat toyota previa. However I really want one with two rear passenger doors (one on each side) for ease of getting a large family in and out, during school runs etc. I know the older models only have a rear door on the drivers side and the newer ones have rear doors on both sides. But can anyone help me by telling me the exact year that the cars started to be made with doors on both sides?

A: Two doors came in with the Mk 2 Previa in 2000.

Q: How much is a transmission for a Toyota rav4?
How much will it cost to fix a transmission on a 2002 Toyota Rav4, 2 wheel drive if we bring the car to the Toyota dealer?

A: their around 3400 bucks from a dealer,if you can find one used from a salvage yard it will be a lot cheaper, even a transmission shop would be cheaper than a dealer would be,good luck.

Q: How to get the Toyota hybrid Prius battery changed and how much does it cost?
The main battery of my Prius 2001 is gone and I don't trust Toyota's answer for this issue.

A: Are you having problems, If so it is the first one I have seen or heard of. I have worked on Prius with over 150,000 miles that have had no problem with the batt. If you do need to replace the Batt you will need to go to a Dealer, The aftermarket shops will have to get the batt from the dealer and mark it up anyway if they know how to do it without killing themselves, there is enough power in a new Batt to kill you.

Q: How do I match Toyota paint codes with the generic paints on the market today? Thanks!?
I have a silver 1991 toyota pick-up truck. I found the paint code (147) on the door jam but have been unable to find that number on any products in auto stores (like O'reilly Auto). Does anyone have any tips on how to match this paint? I have looked online but I have only been able to find matches back to 1994 models. Thanks a lot for your time and help.

A: my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop...

Q: What car is faster a toyota starlet turbo all chaved up or a lotus elise off the shelf standard?
I say lotus elise hands down but local chavs say toyota starlet turbo chav edition. I don't want to race them by the way.

A: Depends what mods the starlet has, they come with 130bhp standard so with a few mods it could be pushing close to 200bhp. The lotus however is around 200bhp standard and is considerably lighter then the starlet. I would say the starlet would probably win off the line but around corners the lotus would win hands down.

Q: How do you open a Toyota Sequoia hatch door that has a broken handle?
I have a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The handle for the back hatch door broke. There seems no way to open the back hatch door now. I don't know how to open the cover from the inside so I can get to the mechanism from the inside. Can someone offer some advice? How do you remove the inside hatch panel to access the linkage. I see no screws or push-rivets. Do you have to pry it from the edges? Does anyone have some helpful instructions?

A: try opening it from the inside

Q: How can you tell the difference between regular toyota camry and hybrid?
I'm 18 and I want to get toyota camry but I don't know the difference between those two. Is it expensive? If is too much to afford then I will just search for something else. But I want a toyota or infinit model.

A: There are a few ways to tell the difference without looking at the VIN# and/or opening the Hood. First, from the front, the grille is chrome - the whole grille is chrome. The only other Camry model that has any chrome on the grille is the XLE model and it is only a chrome surrounding the grille. Second, on the side there are Hybrid badges on the front fenders just in front of the front doors. From the rear, the taillights are different. In all of the other models, the taillights are red and white, with the part on the trunk lid being red. On the Hybrid models, the tail light portion on the trunk lid is white/clear as well. If you look on the rear deck behind the rear seats, there is a rather large vent that stands up over the rear deck. This is the vent to cool the hybrid batteries and is only found on the Hybrid models. As for cost, there is a cost premium of between $0 and $5000 depending on what model you're comparing the hybrid to. The reason I say this is that if you're looking at a fully equipped Hybrid with navigation and leather with moonroof, it is actually a few hundred dollars less than a comparibly equipped XLE V6 Camry. Even on the more basic model of the Hybrid, the most comparible model is the more basic V6 XLE as well and there is only about a $1500 premium for the Hybrid. However, most people compare the Hybrid to the 4cyl LE model in which case there is about a $5000 premium. It really isn't a fair comarison though as you get quite a bit more equipment on the Hybrid that isn't available on the LE such as the Smart-key start and entry, Climate control and performance more comparible to the V6 engine model of the Camry. Hope this helps. Ken

Q: What's the difference between Toyota Prius packages?
I want to buy a used Toyota Prius and I need to find some information on the packages.

A: The best resource for you is the Toyota.com website, but in lieu of that here is the basics... Base Prius - no smart-key, no VSC(Vehicle Stability Control), no cruise control Most common is Package #2 - Cruise control, Heated outside mirrors, upgraded stereo with 6-speakers, smart-key system, and in current year and late 2008 models, backup camera with VSC. Once you get package #5 or 6, you get the DVD navigation system with an upgraded audio system, HID lights with package #6 including Leather. Hope this helps. Ken
