Q: What is the difference between the Nissan Skyline R34 V-Spec and V-Spec 2?
I am just about to buy a new car except i don't know what the difference is between the Nissan Skyline R34 V-Spec and V-Spec 2. I would also like to know if they are AWD or 4WD. Thanks.
A: Each spec up on the Skyline range adds a little more to each car,the V spec added as stiffer suspension and was lower to the ground than previous R34 GTR models,also a rear carbon fiber air diffuser was added,
The V spec 2 was again improved upon and offer an even better upgrade to the suspension also the cool carbon fibre bonnet was added as well as bigger and better brakes which is a common upgrade with v spec models and seen in the R32 versions also.An iridium console was added on the dash board as well as the addition of alloy pedals.

A: you need a rb25 oil pan from a 2 wheel drive skyline due to the fact that the front diff runs through the oil pan on 4wd rb26 engines ..also a rb25 tranny would be best .... the skyline can't disengage the front wheels full time awd
Q: How much is an old Nissan Skyline if its like found in a junkyard?
Im wanting to buy a Nissan Skyline to fix up and i was just wondering about how much they are if they are in like a junkyard in crap condition?
Also, if anyone answering knows where to find old autos like in crap condition im not sure if you find them in a junkyard or what, (im not really sure what im asking), just any ohter information for buying a car out of a junkyard would be helpful :D
A: To the first answer skylines went from 1957 until present day and run a six cylinder engine.
A scrap skyline depends where you live US wise i can only imagine how rare a find it would be,UK say they are cheap enough to buy.
Other route would be to find an insurance company whom sells of there right offs. You could always ring one up and ask which local garages right offs are sent to.
Other option is go for a G35 which is also the 350gt skyline model and also now the g37 which are sold US side.

I'm was try'in to buy lookin at the net and some body told me that nissan skyline is illegal in canada why?
A: The Skyline models are legal in Canada (R32 and R33 Spec 1 models.) and in the US R33 spec 2 models are legal due to crash test details from Motorex.Although older models which were already in the country like the R32 and R34 models etc are legal.
But US wise each state differs which mods are required to make it street legal.

Q: How To get a Nissan Skyline Back To The States?
what dose it take to get a 2000-2005 nissan skyline to the states how much will it cost? what needs to be done? im in japn now and i would like to bring back home a nice car back home anybody help.
A: http://www.motorex.net/skyline.html is still active, they do conversions to make the car legal to register in the US. Check with them. But they only do up to the R34, the last year i believe that was made was 2002. No sense in importing a 2003-2005 as we have them here already, they are Infinti G35's. The R35 GTR has not been released yet anywhere it is due to l go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007. U.S. and Canada will follow in Spring 2008

I'm only 21 but I live in Toronto, Canada and after I graduate from school and get a job in accounting, I'm planning on getting a Nissan Skyline (or other imports like a 300ZX or Supra). I plan on getting an R32, but I'll have to wait 2 years before R33s are available and another 6 years before R34s are available on Canada due to import policies on J imports

Q: how could i get a working Nissan Skyline into the US without breaking any laws?
recently i went to a car auction where a 2003 Nissan Skyline was available to be bid on, unfortunately the vehicle had to be exported. now i loe the Skylines so how would i be able to get one into the US and keep it? would i be able to? would it be possible to modify the engine to adhere to smog checks and whaever else?

I've never seen a nissan skyline in singapore. There are lotsa other japanese muscle cars but no skyline.
The site given by tricky is uncertain. Accept the orange one the others are most definitely Malaysian Skylines. There a lots of them in Malaysia from all kinda tuners. Even have the V-Specs, NISMOs even the N1 versions. But none in Singapore.

A: when you buy a skyline you must go thru a dealer. the dealer must meet all US Dept of trans regulations and a 90 day hold in customs. so really you dont have to do anything the dealer must do all that before you get it, but they will add this cost to your purchase price.

A: underrated cars ,trouble is there expensive in the US with all the regs given to make them legal for the road,hence this prejudice.
Where i live you can pick up skylines really cheap so for us we can own a great car with great tuning abilities,great looks and a car with tech well before its time and even before most cars still have it the same specs today.
All this for a really cheap price.So for me it def is the best car build and one that i can reach with my budget,Even with the cost of the Skyline in the US it ,would still be a great car to own and a car which never really ends,as looks and power and able to use as a daily car ,what other car would you need to change to.
These car are well proven even before more modern versions like the R32 etc
The GTR model first saw
Four years running the GT-R won the championship in the JTC Group A series, a record of 29 wins out of 29 races.
Because of its dominance, the Skyline was given its own series in 1994 the JGTC, (Japan GT car) series.
In 1991 Nurburgring 24 hour endurance race (First participation) Skyline GT-R won the Group N class. At the Spa Francorchamps 24 hour endurance race 1991 the GT-R won overall.
beating Group A, and Group N1 cars.
From 1991 -1997 the Skyline was undefeated in N1 endurance racing in Japan, winning 50 times.
Willowbank Raceway Mark Jacobsen piloted the R32 further into the record books with a 8.271 @ 171 MPH to set a new record, narrowly beat the old Croydon Racing mark of 8.273. The pass was done "off the trailer" at the meet and he tells me that with further suspension improvements and a little more power the car should be capable of a high 7 sec pass.
So all these that think the Playstation made the skylines are wrong it just most countries had never experience of these great cars.Myself feel i love with the car when the R32 first came out.

A: The price of skylines differs to the models with the GTR being the expensive version but nowdays the R32 gtr is priced at a good price.I wanted a skyline when i saw the R32 in 1989 in a magazine and a few years ago was lucky enough to own my first.Something i would not be able to do years ago with the cost of the car and insurance.

A: The car has to meet regs in the state in which you live also crossing states can also cause problems,each skyline versions requires separate work to meet its own regs and certificates to say appropriate work has been done is also needed,There are a good amount of skylines in the US and many with the paperwork.
