Q: What are some of the disadvantages about an 08 Mazda 3?
Is $25,000 a lot of money for an 08 Mazda 3, 4 door, custom made with air bags on the sides of the doors and in the front, with navagation, bluetooth, and Sirus satalite radio?

A: Hi! im from australia, so i don't know where you are but the 08 3's are selling here for a base model neo auto with saftey pack (air bags on side and curtains as well as electronic stability) for around $27 000. Mazda is not keen to do much bargaining on the price as they are literally running out of stock because they are selling so well! I managed to bargain one down too $25 500 the other day, but only because we've previously bought 9 cars from the dealership, so i'd say you have a FANTASTIC deal! be very very happy :)

Q: What model/trim is a good choice for the Mazda 3?
I'm planning on purchasing a new Mazda 3. I was wondering what model I should buy to fully experience all that the car has to offer. Is the cheaper "i" model enough? or should I go for the sport "s" model for a couple more grand? What about in terms of "touring" and "grand touring"? pros and cons anyone? I know it's a lot of questions... but I just want to make sure I'm not spending anymroe money than I need to! THANKS!

A: The "i" model comes with the smaller 2.0L engine. The "s" comes with 2.3L. The 2.0L is pretty preppy, but it doesn't hurt to get the bigger engine. However, if mpg is your primary concern, you might want to stick with the "i" touring. Also, "i" gets 16" alloy while the "s" gets 17. From my experience looking at the used car market, most used car buyers look for the 2.3L Mazda3, so resale may be an issue for the "i" model if you don't plan on keeping it for a long time. You will want to go with the touring since it is packaged very well. If you get the strip base and adds basic options on, you will come out even with the touring. The GT is nice if you want a car loaded with options. But like I said before, the touring model has nice package without breaking the piggy bank. It's a matter of how much you want to spend and what you want in the car. But if you want the best bang for the buck, I suggest the "s" touring. Beware that if you want a hatchback, you must get the "s" anyway as the "i" is only available in Sedan form. Go to mazdausa.com and price one out, then search the dealer inventory and take one for a test drive. You won't be disappointed.

Q: Is the Mazda 3 a good car for the price?
I am looking for a car with pretty good gas mileage. Is the Mazda 3 a good choice?

A: The Mazda 3 is the best car for the money. Consumer reports has the mazda 3 at number 2 of the top 5 least expensive cars they recommend to buy.

Q: What parts in the Mazda 3 are Ford parts? Is the Engine a Ford or a Mazda engine? Are any other parts Ford?
What mechanical, electrical etc parts in the Mazda 3 SP23 are ford parts?

A: Well, the engine is designed by Mazda, the chassis is Ford, Mazda, Volvo and the brakes and suspension are Ford. This may not be true for all individual parts. I know my 3 has "Fomoco" stamped on the brake calipers and some suspension parts. It was stated before that some of the electronic components are Mitsubishi.

Q: Does anyone out there actually owns both current model Mazda 3 and Civic?
in the market for a small car, like both styling so let's not talk about the price and style. i'd like to hear your bias openions and REAL LIFE experience, not from car magazines please. i want to know: handling, maintainence cost, reliability, driving in the city and long distance, long term performance, any minor or major problem? i'd like to know if you still like the car and if you hate the car, why? Again, for people who owns or owned both cars only. Last: i noticed Mazda 3 is a japanese import, does it make a different in terms of quality in your openion?

A: I own a '07 Mazda3 hatchback 2.3s Touring, great: car, handling, acceleration, average milage city 26/33 hwy, auto, i love the ride!!! I'm 6'1" so it's a little tight, love the interior, no maintenance yet 2000 miles only, no minor/mayor problems. I drove the '06 Civic and it's great too, but the hatchback drives sportier than the Civic. I think Honda has better quality but mazda being a japanese i think there's not much difference. Tough to choose, good luck.

Q: What is better a Mazda 3 or a toyota corolla?
Well im getting a new car but idk if i want a mazda 3 or a toyota corolla but i really like the mazda 3 but idk plus the mazda is cheaper then the corolla that i am looking at so if anybody can help thanks- Ashley F

A: that depends on what you want.' The corolla is more reliable and has better resale value, but it costs more, and its really boring to drive. The mazda is fun to drive, is pretty reliable, but doesn't have the resale value that the toyota does. If i were you, i would chose the mazda 3 just because of the way it drives. Test drive both of them and see how you like it.

Q: Anybody know anything about the diesel Mazda 3?
I saw an answer to a different question where somebody mentioned a diesel Mazda 3 for '09. Does anybody know the details like gas mileage and price? I drive a 2.0 '07 3 right now will the diesel be comparable? Also does anybody have the inside scoop on the rumored '08 redisign for the 3? I am itching to catch a glimpse. I meant to say: does anybody have any details on the '09 redisign?

A: Check out; u.k.cars.yahoo.com "Mazda3 Diesel range: Introducing the Thriesel" and automobilemag.com/reviews "2007 Mazda3 Diesel"

Q: when is the next model change for the current mazda 3 model?
I understand the mazda 3 is due for a new facelift since it has been on the market for about 4 years already. Any news from the manufacturer?

A: A mild facelift is possible at the end of the year. A new model not possibile for the next 2 years. The new 2 should be around the end of the year.

Q: What would be the better choice; buying a new Mazda 3 (i-sport) or get one a year older with <20,000 miles?
I ask because the price difference on a Mazda 3 is not that great and I care about mileage more than anything when buying a used car. I also do not want to go more than a year old. Resale value does not concern me.

A: you can figure about $1000 dollars per year depreciation, and about $1000 per 10,000 miles driven. Your used car should cost $ 3000 less and all the warranties are still good. Gas mileage is probably the same.

Q: does a mazda 3 work well in snow conditions?
how well does a mazda 3 perform in snow. some cars do well others do not. I owned 3 toyota supra's and they sucked in winter condition's.The 1988 honda accord I own now is excellent.

A: Did you put snow tires on your Supras? Were they naturally aspirated or turbo? Did you actually know how to drive RWD in snow? All of these could make or break them for winter. And the first one DEFINITELY would. Anyhow, yes. Any modern FWD car should be a snap to drive in snow. Any RWD non-sports car with winter tires should be just fine for a competent driver, as well.
