Q: What is the cost to install heated seats and a leather interior in an '02 Lexus ES 300?
Hi,
Does anyone have a ballpark cost to install heated seats and a quality leather interior in a 2002 Lexus ES 300? I'm considering purchasing one, but the current upholstery is cloth, and I would really prefer leather in this type of car.
I am considering making an offer for the car, minus the cost of this interior upgrade.
Thanks!
A: The cost is formidible, buy a vehicle that you are happy with at the start, to add these luxurys entails considerable electrical work along with the component cost, this becomes an easy decision.
keep searching and you will find the right fit
best of luck
Q: what is the difference between a 1994 lexus es 300 and gs 300 ?
what is the difference between a 1994 lexus es 300 and gs 300 and what's a good selling price and milage wise?? I'm thinking of buying a used car but don't know anything about Lexus. Are they good cars?
A: The ES uses a Camry sourced 3.0 V6 and is more family oriented. It is essentially a more upmarket Camry.
The GS uses a 3.0 Straight 6 cylinder that is borrowed from the Supra and saw action in the IS300 as well. It is sportier and has more power. It is also rear wheel drive, where as the ES is front wheel drive.
Overall, both are good cars that rarely break down. There are still plenty of them on the roads and they have reputations for running well into the 200k mileage territory.

Q: I just change the battery of my Lexus 1994 ES 300 car, after changing the battery, the odometer change to 9999?
My car battery dies out, so I replace a new battery on my Lexus 1994 ES 300. After replace the new battery in my car. I turn on the engine and it work properly. But one thing I noticed is that my odometer change 999999999. Does anyone know how to reset it back to original mileage? My original mileage before was 113489.
A: My father had a 1992 ES300 from late 1991-1999 and he sold it because the computer blew (and it was kind of slow). The same thing happened to him. His odometer just snapped and simultaneously cut the value of the car in half (from $12,000 to $6000). He sold it to some teenager who didn't care about the mileage.
Sorry.
Q: What is the difference between a Lexus ES 300 and an ES 330?
I'm looking at picking up a used Lexus and I'm just not sure what the difference is between the two.
A: The engine is the only difference. The ES300 has a 3.0L V6 and the ES330 has a 3.3L V6. The ES330 produces 225hp and 240 lb-ft of torque and gets 20mpg city, 29mpg highway. The ES300 produces 210hp and 220lb-ft of torque and gets 21mpg city, 29mpg highway. Both are mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Just introduced is the new ES350 which has a 3.5L V6 producing over 260hp.
Q: How do I put a new headlight bulb in my 99 Lexus es 300, can I don it myself, would it involve a screwdriver?
The running headlights are out do you think, I also need high beamer bulbs?
A: IT may or may not need a screw driver, The running light and the high beam should be different, if they are then you change the running light which should only include a user level disconnection of the wire (pull it off) then turn the light bulb counter clockwise and pull out. refer to your owners manual. go to the closest auto zone and ask for help.
Q: I have a 1995 ES 300 Lexus, the air blows out cold in the am, and at night, but hot air when its hots outside?
I have a 1995 ES 300 Lexus, I had the A/C serviced recently but the air is still not working properly, had the freon put in and the dye, and in the mornings the airs blows out cool air, and in the evenings it blows out cool air, but when it gets hot outside the cool air stops blowing and then it starts blowing hot air. Please can you tell my what the problem may be?
A: You will need to get an expansion valve, the receiver dryer and the low side compressor hose. Back in `95, the low side hose would collapse and actually start to come apart from the inside and get stuck in the expansion valve. The dryer should always be replaced when any type of A/C work is done.
I`m going to assume you have no leaks and the compressor is still good and the dye they put in did not reveal anything. This should help you, but in can be expensive. Make sure you find somebody competant. I do work on Lexus for a living. This was a common problem on your ES300. You are probably looking at 5.0 hours labor plus whatever the parts cost. Good Luck!
Q: Is it a bad idea to step down the Octane gas level for my 96 Lexus Es 300?
I've been using midgrade for the past 2 years. I always use chevron or shell to fill up, I've been under the impression that this would benefit my car in the long run, but is it even nessessary? Would it be okay to step down from midgrade gas to just regular?
A: You can use the lowest octane number that will not cause knocking and pinging (sounds that are very distinctive, and you'll know when it happens).
Two of my sis-in-laws drive the LS400 class, and both use higher octanes, but I can't convince them to try lower octanes.
What does it say in your owner's manual? If Toyota is recommending higher octanes, then you might have to keep with the higher octanes for warranty purposes.

Q: What is the size of the speaker on the doors in a 1994 lexus es 300?
I'm changing the door speakers to an aftermarket speaker but i don't know what is the size of it, I only want to open the door cover when I buy the new speakers.
A: Front Speakers Size: 6 1/2" Location: FRONT DOORS
Rear Speakers Size: 6 1/2" Location: REAR DECK
Q: Does anyone know where the linkage to the transmission is on a 1997 Lexus ES 300?
My reverse lights come on when you push the gear shift up towards park but when you put it in reverse they don't come on so a mechanic said that reverse popped into park and you would have to mess with the linkage to the transmission???? I DON"T KNOW WHERE THAT IS!!!!! Is there anyway I could find how the Lexus is put together on the internet? If not is there anyone that could help?
A: under your shifter
Q: What is a fair estimate for repairs to my '94 lexus ES 300?
Apparently I have a valve cover gasket leak and head gasket leak. What does that mean exactly? And why have I gotten estimates ranging from $650-$2000? If you are in the Atlanta area and do this knid of work please contact me!I really need some help here!
A: Lexus says it all. Some shops will just replace the gasket and some will do all the stuff that can go wrong later and cost you another labor charge. By the way, $2000 is about right for gaskets seal and valve adjustment, which all need to be done while the valve covers are off.
Q: Is it possible to find a Lexus Es 300 rom the junk yard and take a cd changer and install in the same car?
I just want to know if I can make this car play cds with another factory equipment
A: YES YOU CAN JUST GOT TO KNOW HOW TO WIRE IT..
Q: Maximum Tyre Size for 2002 Lexus ES 300 on 17 Inch Wheels?
I want to get the 5-spoke 17 inch wheels that are available on the Lexus IS and GS for my 2002 Lexus ES300. What's the maximum tyre size I can get to avoid clearance problems? Also what's the maximum tyre size recommended by Lexus?
A: I work at a Lexus dealer. I know of one customer who has a 2002 ES300 with 20 inch wheels on it, but I am not sure if he has a clearance issue. Replacing the tires with Lexus wheels shouldn't be a problem because they are balanced to work best with Lexus vehicles. If the vehicle is equipped with navigation, changing the wheel size could effect the accuracy of the navigation.
Q: I have a 1994 lexus es 300 and the car tends to overheat.?
i'm pretty sure it's a bad thermostat but im no mechanic. i dont know where its located or what it looks like. can i fix it on my own? how do i know if it's bad or not?
A: You sound like you would be better off taking it to a reputable mechanic or friend who knows their way around an auto. Look on Angie's list or check out the Yellow Pages for an import auto mechanic.
Or ask someone at an auto parts store. Good Luck
