Q: 1996 Honda/Acura NSX-t - anyone?
I lost out on a nice restored Jaguar XK-150 recently so I'm back in the market again. One of my contacts informed me that there is a real sweet Acura that might be up for sale in the city. The owner recently passed away and the widow never drove this car. I'm looking for information on these cars from people who have actually driven them. I have specs on the car but I have not had the opportunity to drive one before. And what would be a fair price to start at? Here is all I have on the car at present. 1996 NSX-T Manual gearbox Lift off roof red w/black interior custom wheels and tires -- factory rims are still there too. Otherwise the car is stock. 35,000 Km should be approx. 22,000 miles I tried to get information from the dealer but they only interested in getting the car for themselves so they keep putting me off. Just do me a favour and spare me the WIKIPEDIA answers. I need answers from present and past owners. Thank you. carguy0035 - That is one nice car. Especially the rims. Thank you.

Q: Is this too good to be true? (Acura NSX pricing)?
I'm obsessed with the Acura NSX, but gave up hope on it months ago, for the extremely high prices, even on old models. However, recently looking at autotrader.com, I foundd a couple of private listings that have 2004-5 Acura NSX models for sale at about $20k with extremely low values. In fact, one 2005 model went for $20k, with about 2.5k miles, and the Kelly Blue Book value is at about $65k. So what gives? Is that the going rate for these cars? Or would there be something seriously wrong with these cars? Is it possible to get a NSX with low mileage for around $20k? I don't care about the year.

A: There are some NSXs around for about 20 grand, but they are moslty 1991 models with high mileage. I'd be very suspect of a low mileage recent one for that money. NSXs are very expensive to run, but it is sort of impressive to find ones with 170K miles on the market that still look okay. That's about 5 times as many miles as Ferraris from the early '90s ever see.

Q: What does NSX stand for from the Honda/Acura NSX?

A: "NSX" is an acronym for "New Sportscar eXperimental" when it was presented (as NS-X) at the Chicago Auto Show in February 1989 and at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1989. Internal Honda sources say the X initially stood for unknown in the codename of the car while it was in development.

Q: Which one is better the Honda NSX or the Acura NSX?

A: Honda owns Acura, it is the same car. If you mean Honda S2000 vs Acura NSX.. the Acura NSX smokes it.

Q: Cual es mejor (which one is better)Acura RSX type-S, Sentra SE-R SPEC-V, Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, Acura NSX-T?

A: Acura RSX type-S 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R SPEC-V 2004 Both are good buys if the description is true!

Q: Porsche 911 vs Acura NSX vs Lotus Elise?
Which is the cooler car? The nicer car? The better performer? When I say the Porsche 911 I mean the 996 or current 997 version. All have acceleration to 60 around the mid 4s. The NSX arguably have the best handling, but is no longer produced. Your opinion?

A: First - to clear up the misinformation here. Porsche cars are not made by VW (Porsche has purchased a good size of VW in recent years, but they are an independant company with some historical/family ties to VW's origins and management). The Elise is a small car, but has not performed poorly in crash tests (and as for it's ability to avoid an accident in the first place, it would score quite highly). The best performer of the group would be the Porsche 997. While the Elise is more of a "pure" sports car, and can offer a more direct driving experience, the 997 is a newer design who's edge in power is ultimately going to be too much for the lighter and more nimble Elise to overcome. While the Elise may overcome some higher powered cars based on handling and braking, the 997 has no major weaknesses in this area for the Elise to exploit. The NSX is a great car - and one that has always gone better than it's numbers might indicate; but in this group, it would be a definite third behind the newer designs. While the NSX is well balanced and a good handling car, it's age shows, and it is not the best handling car of this group (it could actually be the least in the area). Though all three offer good performance and would be alot of fun to drive around a track. As for the nicest? All three cars are well built and have good attention to detail. The 997 (or 996) would be the most practical of the cars, having back seat space (cargo space really, or seating for small children), with the Elise being the least practical. But if you are looking for a true sports car, the Elise is by far the best. The NSX is more middle of the road, not offering quite the comfort or convenience of the newer Porsche, nor the outright "everything for speed" attitude of the Elise. As for cooler? Will all be in the eye of the beholder. All three have excellent credentials, and look good both at speed and standing still. They will all draw some admiring glances and are fun to drive. Which is the coolest is ultimately which one you feel the coolest in.

Q: how can i increase my horsepower for my acura nsx?

A: put a horse into your car= more horsepower

Q: what looks as good as an acura nsx....for half the price?
I love the sleek and fast design, but no way could I afford one.

A: acura tl/tsx

Q: Acura advanced sportscar concept NSX?
how much will the acura advanced sportscar concept NSX be going for in price. i dont need exact but i would like to know. i love the car i mean its fantastic.

A: Acura NSX Prices: Various estimates put the price of admission at $100,000--$130,000, which seems logical to us.

Q: which is faster, a acura nsx or a subaru wrx?

A: The Nsx is if they are both straight from the dealer but the Subaru wrx can be faster with just a little bit tune-up. If they both race head to head because the wrx is a runs on all 4 wheels so it might be ahead for a second.

Q: What would you buy? Acura NSX or BMW M3?
If this was your own money what would you buy? And why? Just like to hear your guys opinion.

A: BMW M3. It is a true drivers car that has an amazing engine note. Honestly, I can never think of an Acura as anything more than a fixed up Honda.

Q: What is so unique about the Acura NSX? For example why is it so expensive for being a V6 and only having 300hp

A: Because it was Japan's 1st attempt to build a true sports car. Sure it "only" has 300hp, but horses dont matter. It depends on the driver and all that. The NSX revvs at 8000, looks, and sounds really nice. It's expensive for being a V6 because it's faster then most V6. Plus, the NSX is kind of rare to find some rich bastard driving one. Just refer to it as a Japanese muscle car, or an import tuner.
